A Note About Hand-Crafted Majolica

Each piece of Majolica is unique as it is hand-crafted and painted.  The shape, design, and color can vary based on the potter or painter’s touch.  Evidence of handcrafted work includes slight color and size variations, occasional paint smudges and looseness of lids.

Back Orders

At Gilardini Ceramica Italiana, we deal with smaller producers who provide the highest quality products that we and our discerning customers expect.  This naturally means that the quantity available through us may be less than you'll find at some of our competitors.  We will do everything possible to fulfill your requests on a timely basis.  In the event an item is on back order, we will inform you and, if you cannot wait for delivery, we will gladly suggest an alternative.

Care and Use of Majolica

Majolica must be handled with care.  Dishwasher use is only recommended on a low energy/cool dry cycle.  Majolica should never be placed in a microwave or conventional oven.  During winter months in areas that freeze, pieces must be moved indoors as moisture may seep in and cause cracking.

Shipping & Handling Charges and Sales Tax

Your order will be shipped within three business days or we will advise you of any delay.  Items ordered together may be shipped separately.  Overseas shipping is not available.  Our UPS ground rates are as follows and include insurance.

$10-15 for each shipment of merchandise under $100
12.5% for each shipment of merchandise over $100 but under $300
15% for each shipment of merchandise over $300

For shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and oversize packages additional charges may apply, but will be confirmed prior to shipment.

For New Jersey shipments, a 7% Sales Tax is added.

Items Damaged In Transit

Please contact us immediately via e-mail or by telephone  at (732) 292-1154 to report the damage.  Keep all packing materials and the original box for inspection by UPS.  We will coordinate to have the package inspected and returned to us and will issue a store credit or a replacement piece, depending on your preference, as soon as possible.

Return Policy

Returns are accepted within 30 days of the original purchase with the original receipt, as long as the item has not been used or damaged.  Should you need to return a purchase or any item received as gift we will be happy to:

a)    Process an exchange for other merchandise; or
b)    Issue a store credit that can be used at anytime

Unfortunately, we are unable to issue refunds.  Return shipping to Gilardini Ceramica Italiana at 170 Main Street, Manasquan, NJ 08736 is the responsibility of the customer or gift recipient and must be insured.
